An evil queen, a dangerous man, and a witch, tangled together in a tale of Snow White...

Desperate to save the last of her family from the murderous Faery Queen, Trina Mac Elvy weaves a spell of entrapment. But instead of a common soldier, the queen has released the Dark Huntsman, a full blooded fae with lethal powers.

Caged for treason, Logan Ni Brennan, is ready to do anything to win free of the manipulative queen, even if it includes running a last errand for her…murdering a witch. The sight of Trina, ready to fight despite the odds, gives him another option: use the witch as a chess piece, put the queen’s son on the throne, and bring down the queen forever.

As the queen slides into insanity and her closest advisor makes plans to succeed to the throne, Logan secrets Trina away in the enchanted forest and makes a decisive move in his dangerous game of manipulation. But the gaming tables of fate turn on him, and when Trina’s life is threatened he discovers he risks more than his freedom…he risks his heart.

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
This is the story that I started years ago when I finally got serious about finishing a romance. I’d started other ones, mostly suspense and contemporary romances, but I’d never finished them. It took twisting fairy tales and the challenges of creating an entirely new world for me to get hooked.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
Too long! Seriously, that’s a tough one. I wrote the first draft over two years. Then I re-wrote it. Then I re-wrote it again. And it’s been edited so many times since then it’s crazy! But that’s what happens with a book of your heart, you can’t put it down.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
Writing is hard. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But, it’s also the thing that I love to do because it keeps my brain engaged. I love having to work hard to get my characters into difficult situations, and then when they figure out how to get out, I get to throw something else at them. I also love the way the relationships develop. I’m not one of those people who knows all the motivations of my characters, especially those dark, mysterious men. They are close-lipped about why they do things and sometimes it takes getting through several difficult things before they spill, and let me know why they are the way they are. Gotta love those men!

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Writing. No, seriously. I find all kinds of ways to avoid sitting down at the keyboard. But once I do, I love it and I get very involved. I used to say it was the editing, but I’ve been editing a lot over the last year since I put out three books in 2013 and I’m working to get all the books in this series out for my readers. During all the editing I found that I actually like it. It’s like a puzzle, you have all the pieces and some of them look like they should fit, but you need to try and turn them around before they are perfection.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Hmmm,

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
I just tossed out some sourdough starter that was several years old. It had been living in the freezer, waiting for me to decide I had the time and inclination to go back to making my own bread. I’m not eating bread right now, so I finally gave up on the starter and tossed it. Luckily, I can always make more if I go back to wheat. Did you know that starters can live for years in the freezer and be perfectly fine? In fact, they can live in all kinds of weird situations, and be fine. Crazy!

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
I am inches away from having book two, PRINCE BY BLOOD AND BONE, out. I mean it. It’s nearly there. In fact, it might be out by the time this comes to press. That’s been an adventure in itself, not because of the book, but because of all the life lessons I’ve learned this fall about making time for my writing and telling people no. I’m not very good at the no!

I’m just starting the third book in this series, BROKEN MIRROR, and I’m super excited. I plan to have it out in the spring. Okay, it’s going to be late spring, I admit it. (I just need to say NO to all those people in my life, kids…husband…that dog with the leash in her mouth.) BROKEN MIRROR will be the last book in this trilogy, but I have a new series brewing in this world and I can’t wait to begin outlining it. I planned these books as a trilogy, and the next set will be it’s own trilogy too, but about the Winter Court. Brrr! That Snow Queen is dangerous, I feel it in my bones.

Thanks again for having me here, it’s been fun!
