The Best Fans Ever

Over Christmas break, we went to a family dinner in a small, tiny town in Wyoming.  We go every year, and it's always a blast to see everyone.  This year, I allowed my family members to pick out one of my books for their present.  I wasn't sure how it would go over (you never know if people actually want to read your stuff and I didn't want to feel like I was forcing it on them), but they were very excited to get copies of the books.  I also found out that Cole, my 19-year-old male relative (I'm not exactly sure how we're related, but it's through marriage only) has read every single one of my books.

That news really surprised me.  I knew he had read my YA zombie books (Life After the Undead and Death to the Undead), but I didn't know he had checked out my other stuff.  I was flattered and embarrassed all at the same time.  It made me so happy to know he enjoyed my stories that much.

It got me to thinking about all the other readers out there that love my books. I know who you are, and you know who you are, and I want you to know that I appreciate you so very much. You're the reason I write, that I can write. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in me and enjoying my stories.

I'm really looking forward to 2014, and I hope you all celebrate with me the release of my latest creations.  The first one, The Appeal of Evil, comes out on January 17th.  My Booktrope team has worked really hard to help me get this baby ready for the world.  There will be a blog tour and a giveaway, so I hope you all participate!
